Best Beaches in Hawaii - Molokai

Molokai, the "Friendly Isle" or the "Most Hawaiian Island" as it is also called, offers many deserted and beautiful beaches. While Molokai doesn't have many of the best beaches in Hawaii for swimming, several of the beaches on Molokai do offer excellent, uncrowded swimming and snorkeling.

  • Kepuhi & Dixie Maru Beaches - During Hawaii's summer (about May to October) the west beaches offer the calmest waters. When winter swells create monster waves, sightseeing is the safest activity on these Western beaches while the southeast beaches are usually perfect for a swimming or snorkel excursions.
  • Murphy's Beach - For year round swimming, Murphy's Beach is almost always good because it is protected by Hawaii's only barrier reef. One of the things that make many of Molokai's beaches the best in Hawaii is that yours will often be the only footprints you'll see.
  • Papohaku Beach  - Located on the west coast of Molokai, Papohaku is one of the world's longest beaches. It is not unusual to be able to see no one on the beach for miles. If you want a private, secluded and beautiful beach, Papohaku is for you. Papohaku Beach also offers swimming, snorkeling, bodysurfing, boogie boarding, and surfing.

Options for visiting the beaches of Molokai include staying at the Molokai Ranch Resort, attending the Beamer Family Aloha Music Camp, or catching the ferry or a boat tour from Maui.
