Best Kauai Beaches

Hawaii Beaches – Kauai

The Garden Isle of Kauai tends to have the best beaches in Hawaii because of its dazzling white and ultra soft golden sand. Known for its popular puka shells and endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals, Kauai beaches feature both beauty and excitement.

  • Poipu Beach - One of the best family beaches in Hawaii, Poipu Beach is located on the sunny southern side.  This stretch of soft golden sand and crescent shaped beaches that front the Sheraton Poipu Beach Hotel and the Kiahuna Condominium Resort, offer ideal surf for surfing lessons. If you are looking for gentle surf, try the beaches in front of Poipu Park, which are protected by the reefs. There's also a cove protected by a wall that locals call "Baby Beach," where the water is flat, calm and shallow.
  • Lumahai & Ke'e Beaches - Kauai's Lumahai and Ke'e Beach were featured in the film South Pacific proving that some of Hawaii's most scenic beaches are found on the island of Kauai.  Ke`e Beach is also one Hawaii's best snorkeling beaches and offers amazing sunsets.
  • Tunnels Beach - One of the best beaches in Hawaii for expert surfing and beachcombing for puka shells.

Island hopping? Some of the best beaches in Hawaii can be found on these islands as well:
